How quickly do Tench grow?

I was just wondering how quickly do Tench grow? I have 2 small tench in my pond, and they don't seem to be changing in sizes much at all!

  • Different conditions will cause Tench to grow at different rates. General rule of thumb is after 10 years they should weight about 1-2kg.

Tench that are about a year old should be around 8cm in length. Tench grow very slowly compared to fish such as Carp, so you'd probably expect them to grow around around 1cm per year approx.

    Hope that helps!
